Warranty & Liability Statement
Limited Warranty
BLCKLINE Automotive provides a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and installation conditions. This warranty applies to the product supplied only and does not extend to the vehicle, vehicle systems, labour costs, diagnostic costs, installation costs, programming, calibration, or any other associated expenses.
This warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not cover normal wear and tear, deterioration through use, or any issue that does not arise from a defect in materials or workmanship.
Installation
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in the product as supplied. It does not cover faults caused by improper installation, including (but not limited to) installation contrary to the manufacturer's instructions, use of incorrect mounting hardware or wiring, failure to confirm vehicle compatibility prior to fitment, or damage caused during the installation process.
Where a defect is alleged, BLCKLINE Automotive may require evidence of how the product was installed — including photographs, installation records, or inspection of the product and surrounding componentry — to determine whether the fault arises from a manufacturing defect or from installation. Claims where the fault is attributable to installation rather than to a defect in materials or workmanship will not be accepted under this warranty.
For complex or safety-critical components — including suspension, steering, braking, and electrical integration — professional installation is strongly recommended, as installation errors in these categories are more likely to cause product failure that is not covered under this warranty.
Making a Warranty Claim
To submit a warranty claim, the purchaser must contact BLCKLINE Automotive within the warranty period and provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Reasonable evidence of the alleged defect
- Where requested, evidence of how the product was installed
BLCKLINE Automotive may require photographs, video evidence, diagnostic reports, installation records, or return of the product for inspection prior to assessing the claim. Where a valid warranty claim is confirmed, DMS Engineering will provide a replacement product or refund, consistent with the nature of the failure.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear or deterioration through use
- Faults caused by improper installation or failure to follow installation instructions
- Compatibility issues where vehicle specifications were not confirmed prior to purchase
- Cosmetic damage occurring after installation
- Damage caused by impact, misuse, modification, or external causes
- Water ingress caused by incorrect installation or vehicle sealing deficiencies
- Electrical faults caused by vehicle wiring, voltage irregularities, or third-party accessories
- Use of products outside their intended vehicle application
- Commercial, motorsport, or off-road use of parts not designed or marketed for that application. Products marketed for off-road use are warranted only for their intended off-road application
- Use of products on public roads where the product is not ADR-approved, which remains the responsibility of the purchaser
Where inspection determines that no manufacturing defect is present, return shipping costs may be payable by the purchaser. Minor condensation within lighting assemblies may occur temporarily due to environmental temperature variation and does not constitute a defect unless persistent moisture accumulation is present.
Australian Consumer Law
This warranty is provided in addition to the purchaser's rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this warranty operates to exclude, restrict, or modify those statutory rights.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), our total liability is strictly limited to the original cost of the product supplied.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including but not limited to:
- Loss of vehicle use
- Business or income interruption
- Costs associated with towing, transportation, or diagnosis
- Any damage to third-party property
Under no circumstances will our liability exceed the amount you paid for the product.
